PlayStation 4 Pro Vs Xbox One X

Which One Is The Best, PS4 Or Xbox One?

Controller- Its the first thing you should think about before buying any console. Do you like DualShock4 or Xbox Controller? My personal preference is the Xbox Controller. Why? Because of that awesome offset layout. I have played with both of them, and I find the Xbox One controller more comfortable. It's just better. Also, the trackpad on DualShock4 is bullshit. You cannot aim using the trackpad, you have to use the joystick. I mean, then why the hell is that trackpad even there. Also, Xbox controller costs less if you want to buy multiple controllers.

Exclusives- Halo 3, Forza, PUBG, Gears of War are all Xbox One X exclusives (PUBG is on PC as well, but if you don’t have a nice enough PC, the only way to play it is on Xbox). Gran Turismo, Uncharted, Detroit (Upcoming), God of War are all PS4 exclusives. I think both are close here, but I will declare Xbox as the winner as it has PUBG in its arsenal which right now is the game in demand.

Backward Compatibility- I myself don’t play any games from older consoles, but if you do then Xbox has significantly better backward compatibility. It can run Xbox (2001) and Xbox 360’s games, you just need to download them and you can play them offline. I am saying so because you cannot play older games on PS4 offline. If you want to play PS3 or PS2’s games, then you will have to run them online on their server.

Hardware-This is the part you should be least concerned about as this department is already handled by Sony and Microsoft. You can game on 4K in both of them, and they will run games even after 10 years later, smoothly. The difference in image quality will be almost negligible, undifferentiable to a native eye sitting 6–10 feet away from the screen. Although you should note that Xbox One X will run most of the games at 60FPS and some at 30FPS and PS4 Pro will run only a few games at 60FPS and mostly at 30FPS. You will not feel laggy in 30FPS, but if you game largely at 60FPS and then try a game at 30FPS, it will feel a bit laggy.

Extra Features (Part 1- UI)- You should not be concerned of the UI much, both of them will get the job done, but I liked the UI of PS4 as it shows the recent games played right in front when you start it.

Extra Features (Part 1- VR)- I personally hate VR. Once I tried VR in an Educational Fair and I got a headache after using it 2 minutes. A headache stayed the whole day. I was not gaming on it, it was just a simple demo of a VR Headset (Oculus Rift). But still PS4 Pro supports Sony’s VR headset and you can buy it if you like.

Extra Features (Part 3- More Features)- Xbox One X has a feature where you buy an Xbox game and you can play that on your PC/Laptop as well. I used that feature to play only Forza Horizon 3 only as I cannot afford to download 100s of GB because those games aren’t compressed at all. Still a better feature than streaming your game on a PS Vita which itself cannot run anything more than games from 2010.

Continued… Also, Xbox One X has a 4K Blu-ray player which I am never going to use, it has Dolby Atmos, and a useful feature where you connect your set-top box to Xbox One X and then you can switch from games to a TV in seconds, without using to change the source using TV remote.

Price- Xbox One X is $499 (Rs. 40,000) and PS4 Pro is $399 (Rs. 33,000). The price on both the consoles is very much justified! Why? Because Sony and Microsoft both sell their consoles at a loss. Xbox One X and PS4 Pro, both have a manufacturing cost higher than their selling price. But nevertheless, both Sony and Microsoft earn from the ridiculously priced games and Xbox Gold and PS Plus membership, due to which their losses are covered instantly, still PS4 Pro is cheaper, but seeing that you can keep playing on these consoles for 10 years, their yearly cost comes out to be $40 or $50 (excluding the games), which you can afford.
